Parent Information Summary
What is STEM Camp?
STEM Camp provides hands-on science experiences and excursions for children aged 8–13 years across Perth and surrounds. Each program runs for 3 consecutive days. Our goal is to spark curiosity and confidence through engaging, educational activities in a safe and supportive environment.
What is your Commitment to Child Safety?
STEM Camp is committed to providing fun, hands-on science learning experiences for children and young people in a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment. We recognise and uphold the dignity and rights of every person and strive to create a culture where children feel valued, heard, and protected from harm.
STEM Camp is working towards aligning with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and complies with Western Australian child safety laws. We ensure our practices, governance and culture promote and protect the safety and well-being of all children involved in our programs.
All staff are screened, required to hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC), and must complete child-safety training before working with us.
Children are treated with respect, fairness, and care at all times. We empower children to protect themselves and others, encourage conversations about safety, and provide guidance on child safety concerns.
We maintain policies to prevent harm and build a strong safeguarding culture. If we receive information or concerns about child safety, we respond promptly and report concerns to appropriate authorities.
You are welcome to read our Child Safety Commitment Statement on our website. We also welcome feedback to help us continually improve our processes and program.
What risk management strategies do you have to ensure safety?
- All venues and activities are risk-assessed before use.
- Staff are trained to recognise and mitigate risks during activities.
- Chartered and licensed bus operators are used for all travel.
- First aid–trained staff are present on every excursion.
- In the unlikely event of illness or injury, STEM Camp will seek appropriate medical assistance and notify parents immediately.

Can someone else pick up my child?
Only the designated person assigned at the time of booking can pick up your child.
If you can no longer collect your child, you must notify us before pick-up time that someone else will be collecting them. If not advised beforehand, your child cannot be released to the alternate person, and late pick-up fees may apply.
The alternate person may be required to show ID for verification.

Please bring your own lunch, snacks, water, and drink bottle (no nuts or nut products).
Will Camp be cancelled due to extreme weather?
STEM Camp will not generally cancel programs due to extreme weather. In exceptional circumstances where cancellation is necessary, families will be notified. Drop-off and pick-up times remain unchanged.
During extreme weather, activities may be modified to use indoor or sheltered facilities.
