Our STEM holiday programs in Perth are designed for children aged 8–13, offering the perfect balance of fun, education, and hands-on exploration. Forget worksheets and screens—our STEM campers get outdoors, work together, and solve exciting challenges that bring science, technology, engineering, and maths to life. Each day is filled with hands-on activities, creative projects, and guidance from passionate educators who make learning feel like play.

Jason Barber — Cofounder

Jason is a former police officer with more than 30 years of dedicated service in law enforcement. Throughout his career, he supported families during difficult situations, which shaped his deep commitment to child safety and community wellbeing.

As a father, Jason saw how much his daughter loved learning through touch, exploration, and real-world experiences. Yet he found very few school holiday programmes that offered safe, hands-on activities that went beyond screens or sports camps. He wanted something meaningful for her—something that would spark curiosity, build confidence, and make school holidays truly enriching.

When he could not find the kind of programme he wished existed, Jason decided to create it. That is how STEM Camp began. His goal was simple: to build a place where children could learn through doing, explore new ideas, and feel supported by caring mentors in a secure environment.

Jason brings a steady, protective leadership style shaped by decades of safeguarding others. He creates an environment where children feel safe, valued, and free to explore. Parents appreciate his approachable nature, clear communication, and genuine dedication to giving every child a positive holiday experience.

As a co-founder of STEM Camp, Jason is committed to creating immersive learning experiences in a secure environment. His passion for building strong, supportive communities drives his work, centred on empowering young people to grow, learn, and contribute confidently to their world.
